We’ve known Amy for several years as a loyal fan. She often shares her beautiful outfits paired with our bags. We appreciate her vintage-inspired style, and after chatting, we discovered we share more than just a love for handcrafted vintage leather bags. We found common ground in our commitment to social responsibility and passion for cultural exchange.

We collaborated with Amy to design a special bag together which resulted in the Limited Edition Camino. Recently we sat down with Amy to discuss the collaboration and why she felt like she formed such a strong connection with the brand.

Q: When did you first discover Beara Beara, and what stood out to you?

A: I first discovered Beara Beara during my university years, about six years ago. At the time, my friends and I were really drawn to handcrafted leather bags, and Beara Beara stood out to me, not just for its vintage and elegant design, but also for the cultural story behind the brand. Although I couldn’t afford one back then, with my part-time job, it planted a seed in my heart. I made a promise to myself that when I successfully get accepted into a master’s programme in the UK, I would buy a Beara Beara bag as a reward for all the hard work I had put in.

Q: How do you feel the brand's spirit aligns with your personal style or values?

A: What truly draws me to Beara Beara is your strong commitment to social responsibility and cultural exchange, the values that deeply align with my own life experiences. For four years, I worked as an English teacher in a remote rural area in eastern Taiwan. The community had limited educational resources, and many of the children had never had an opportunity to learn English. I brought teaching materials and support from the city, hoping to make a difference by offering them a glimpse of an English world and the confidence to explore it. During that time, I witnessed not only the gap between urban and rural areas but also the importance of how social resources are delivered. It’s not just about access but making those resources truly meaningful and sustainable for the people receiving them. That experience shaped my belief that sharing knowledge, respecting cultures, and acting with responsibility.

I love the fact that your collaboration with Bolivian artisans is about mutual respect, empowerment, and storytelling. Every bag carries a real narrative behind it. In the same way, I hope to live a life that creates value through cultural respect and purposeful contribution.

Q: Were there any specific needs or everyday problems you aimed to solve through the design of AMY CAMINO?

A: When we worked on the design for this limited edition, my main goal was to incorporate certain aspects that I personally experience as a content creator and a tutor, who is always on the move. As someone juggling daily life and video production, I often find myself carrying not just the usual essentials like a phone and wallet, but also a camera and other filming gear. However, I noticed that most camera bags on the market are either overly technical and synthetic, or stylish bags that lack the structure and protection needed for equipment. I wanted to create a bag that blends function with aesthetics, something beautiful enough for daily wear, yet structured and reliable enough to protect professional equipment.

Q: Beyond appearance, what detail or function of the bag matters most to you, and why?

A: One of the details I care most about is the wide shoulder strap. I wanted the bag to go beyond just looking unisex and the wide strap helps distribute weight more evenly across the shoulder, making it more comfortable for men to carry with support, while also allowing women to wear it in a shorter, more stylish way. Also the fact that the strap is removable was important so I can carry the bag by the top handle which always gets me lots of compliments. It's almost like it adds to my confidence when I carry it like that.

Q: What does this bag represent to you? Have you given it a personality or symbolic meaning?

A: To me, this bag is like a physical representation of my journey in chasing my dreams. The exterior is made of leather, symbolizing the resilience and commitment I developed while living and starting my business in the UK. The interior features traditional Scottish tartan lining, a meaningful tribute to my time in Edinburgh. We developed three different linings, each paired with the outside leather and I think it's wonderful how much personality it adds to the bag. You open the bag and wow, a lovely little surprise every time.

Q: How do you usually choose your bags? What kind of design instantly draws you in?

A: I usually go for bags with a vintage vibe because I feel like they have a story and never go out of style. I also care a lot about how practical and comfy they are to carry. If a bag can easily match different outfits, that’s the one I just can’t put down.

“AMY CAMINO is the companion through which I see the world with my eyes, capturing both my dreams and everyday life.”
